Who are Sarah & Essie

I've been making jewelry for over 20 years. But the business you see today started with a loss I wasn't ready for.

Her name was Essie. She was a faithful, joyful companion for nearly 10 and a half years, and when she passed away in December 2014 from cancer, I needed something to hold onto. I made a small memorial piece for myself. It was the first of its kind I'd ever made, and it changed the direction of everything.

That piece led me to start creating memorial jewelry for others. Since then, I've had the privilege of serving more than 25,000 customers as they look for ways to keep the people and moments that matter most a little closer.

Over time, the work evolved. Today, Sarah & Essie is built around handwriting and personalized jewelry, pieces engraved with the actual handwriting of someone you love. A note, a signature, a few words in their hand, preserved exactly as they wrote them, in a piece you can wear every day.

The name has always meant something to me. Sarah & Essie isn't a brand name I landed on because it sounded good. It's the name of a friendship. Naming this business after her is my small way of keeping her memory alive, and my hope is that every piece I make does the same for someone you love.

Every order is still made one at a time, with care. That hasn't changed, and it won't.

I'm really glad you're here.
